Akooshi Crafts Partners with MADE51 to Empower Refugees and Promote Sustainability
Akooshi Crafts is excited to announce a new partnership with MADE51, a global platform dedicated to empowering artisans around the world. This collaboration aims to create sustainable livelihoods for refugees in Ghana while promoting eco-friendly practices.
Through this partnership, Akooshi Crafts is sharing its expertise in coconut craft with a group of talented refugees from Sudan, Central Africa, Togo, Cameroon, and Liberia, residing in the Krisan Refugee Camp in Western Ghana. By teaching them to transform discarded coconut shells into beautiful and functional products, such as bowls, spoons, and jewelry, Akooshi Crafts is empowering these individuals to become skilled artisans and generate income.
This initiative aligns with Akooshi Crafts’ commitment to sustainability and social impact. By utilizing every part of the coconut, from the shell to the flesh, the company minimizes waste and maximizes the potential of this natural resource.
We are thrilled to be working with MADE51 to bring these unique and ethically produced products to a global audience. Stay tuned for the launch of our new collection featuring the incredible work of these talented refugee artisans.
